About The Gaming Overlords
Welcome to my blog, I am a past, present and future gamer with vast amounts of experience in all types of games. I’ve been playing games for upwards of 26 years of my life and will likely continue to play games well into my later years.
Ever since my first video game system, the NES, I have been hooked. I’ve conquered countless games and played even more. I have played games on the Atari, Commodore 64, NES, SNES, Playstation, Gameboy, Xbox, N64, PC and all the generations or variations of these systems to be released though out the years. I’ve played single player games, multiplayer games, massively multiplayer online game and even competitive games in tournament.
Types of games I like
My all-time favorite games would have to be RPG games, I was introduced exceedingly early on in life to The Legend of Zelda. Since then, I have played every RPG game that I could get my hands on.
To list a few favorites, I would have to say The Legend of Zelda series, The Final Fantasy series, The Elder Scrolls series, World of Warcraft and almost any MMORPG you could list. I could continue that list into Oblivion (pun intended) if given the chance and, who knows, I might do just that.
I am also a huge fan of puzzle games or any game that also incorporates puzzles in the gameplay. Nothing, in my mind, is more satisfying than solving an incredibly difficult puzzle without any assistance.
Strategy games were also part of my childhood and current day gaming activities. With running hundreds of games of Red Alert, Age of Empires and Civilization came a unique understanding of the subtleties of a good strategy game.
Why I like games
Games are my escape. The time that I can have to myself to spend in a world outside my own. Something that I have control over, and with that comes a sense of power that cannot be matched in real life.
Games are a way to live out my wildest dreams and craziest aspirations without risk to myself or others.
Current systems I play games on
Currently I own a number of game systems though the ones I use if fairly consistent rotation are my PS5, Xbox Series X, PS4, Xbox One and a higher end gaming PC.
If you are curious about the specs of my PC, I will likely have a post on that exact topic soon.
